【October 8, 2026 update】 Long-weekend offer: redeem Scene+ points at Shell and get 20% back (October 8–12)

  • 20% back on points you redeem: when you redeem points for gas at Shell, or in the store or at the pump, you get 20% of those points back. Redeem 1,000 points ($10 off) and you get 200 points back.
  • Sign in, load the offer (Load offer), then redeem the points at Shell.
  • The most you can get back during the promotion is 15,000 points. Each person can make at most 3 qualifying redemptions a day. That means each account can redeem at most 75,000 Scene points.

On this offer, Scene+ points are worth 1.25 cents per point. That is hard to come by, and much better than redeeming them 1:1 on travel spending.

【October 8, 2026 update】 Shell has several fuel promotions:

  • Register in the Shell app: fill 30 litres and get 200 points the first time and 400 points the second time (until October 31)
  • Pay with a linked Scene+ credit card and save 3 cents per litre. During the promotion, save another 3 cents per litre (until December 31)

Petro-Canada / Gas+

Petro-Canada Points

Petro-Points is Petro-Canada’s loyalty programme. You can earn Petro-Points on fuel, car washes, and in-store purchases at Petro-Canada and Gas+.

  • Earning: 10 points per litre of fuel, and 10 points per dollar spent in store
  • Redemption: a fixed rate of 1,000 points for $1, usable toward fuel, car washes, and other purchases

The base earn rate is tiny: 10 points per litre are worth only one cent. The useful part is stacking Petro-Canada with its partner programmes.

1️⃣ RBC

RBC and Petro-Canada

After linking your RBC and Petro-Canada accounts, use an RBC debit or credit card at Petro-Canada to receive:

  • $0.03 off per litre
  • 20% more Petro-Points
  • 20% more Avion points when using an Avion-earning card

Use the RBC ION+ at Petro-Canada and you get $0.03 off per litre plus 3.6x Avion points. That is a strong stack.

Link Triangle Rewards and Petro-Points to earn both Petro-Points and Canadian Tire Money. At Petro-Canada and Gas+:

  • Earn 20% more Petro-Points
  • Pay with cash or debit to earn $0.03 in Canadian Tire Money per litre
  • Pay with a Triangle credit card to earn $0.05 in Canadian Tire Money per litre; the World Elite Mastercard earns $0.07 per litre on premium fuel

Esso / Mobil

Since January 17, 2022, Esso has ended its own rewards programme and moved to PC Optimum.

Esso and PC Optimum

It is simple: have a PC Optimum account and scan your loyalty card when buying fuel. In my experience, Mobil earns more than Esso:

  • Esso: 10 PC Optimum points per litre, worth 1¢ per litre in points
  • Mobil: 30 PC Optimum points per litre, worth 3¢ per litre in points
  • Stack with a PC credit card to earn up to 70 PC Optimum points per litre, worth 7¢ per litre in points
  • Download the PC Optimum app for weekly or monthly bonus-point fuel offers
  • Some offers are targeted, so check the app from time to time

Chevron

Chevron partners with JOURNIE, which also works with these other gas stations:

How points work:

  • Earn 1 point per litre of fuel
  • Earn 2 points per $1 spent in the gas-station convenience store

Rewards (three tiers):

  • 75 points: redeem for a small snack or $0.02 off per litre
  • 150 points: redeem for a more expensive snack or bonus points
  • 300 points: unlock the top discount of $0.07 off per litre

Once you redeem the top reward, you start a new earning cycle.

Journie reward structure

Partner cards:

Journie partners with CIBC. Link a CIBC credit or debit card to your JOURNIE account, then pay with that card for fuel to receive an instant $0.03 off per litre.

Common app offers (examples):

Buy two car washes and pay with a CIBC card to unlock $0.07 off per litre on your next fuel purchase (until March 19).

At selected FAS GAS PLUS stations, diesel is $0.03 per litre off on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and premium fuel is $0.03 per litre off on Fridays.

Keep in mind ⚠️: these discounts stack with reward offers. When you unlock a reward, you have 60 days to choose the offer that suits you. You can buy up to 100 litres in one transaction, and the redemption and stacked-discount cap is $0.35 per litre.

Since November 15, 2023, Aeroplan has also partnered with JOURNIE. Link the two accounts to earn or redeem Aeroplan points at participating gas stations.

In the first half of 2026, Shell changed partners to Scene+, alongside its Scotiabank and Tangerine partnerships.

  • An additional instant 4¢ per litre off Shell V-Power® fuel when you pay with an eligible Scotiabank or Tangerine credit card that earns Scene+ points
  • Up to 3¢ per litre in Scene+ point value on Shell V-Power® fuel when you pay with an eligible Scotiabank or Tangerine credit card that earns Scene+ points
