Rove Miles is a travel-rewards programme that appeared this year. It calls itself a “universal airline mile.” It is not a traditional airline or hotel membership scheme. You earn a virtual currency called Rove Miles by booking hotels, flights, or shopping online, then use those miles for flights and hotels or transfer them to partner loyalty programmes.

What Rove Miles is

From its website and public reviews, it is essentially a travel cash-back platform. The company says it returns 100% of commissions to users. After you complete a transaction in the Rove ecosystem, you receive a varying number of miles. Those miles can be used to:

• Redeem hotels / flights with Rove Miles
• Transfer miles into selected airline and hotel loyalty programmes

The name sounds like an airline, but Rove Miles is a fintech company operated by Rove Card, Inc. It is not part of any airline, bank, or hotel operator.

How to earn Rove Miles

Rove Miles never expire.

2.1 Hotel bookings

This is Rove’s main pitch, and it mainly includes:

• High-rate mile rebates (up to 25x)
• Options that include elite benefits and elite-night credit
• Different prices and booking types (it started as prepaid only; refundable is now available too)
• You pay through Rove, but the hotel category still shows, so it does not wipe out a hotel co-brand card’s bonus category

I tried the hotel search. It is interesting:

Figure 1: pick a city and dates at random and you see quite a few hotels with very high rebate rates. Some also let you earn elite nights and benefits; you can filter for those hotels in the left sidebar

Figure 2: tap into a hotel and you see different rates. If you choose the option with benefits and elite nights, the Rove Miles rebate is only 5x (see figure 3)

2.2 Flight bookings

Flights usually pay less, typically only 1–10 miles per US dollar.
The actual rate depends on the route, cabin and partner rules, and is generally less attractive than hotel earning.

I tried it: before you pay, you choose how many Rove Miles you want to earn. More miles means a higher price

2.3 Online shopping

It works like other shopping-portal sites: search a merchant name and click through. Rove also offers a browser extension so you can earn miles on partner retail sites.

How to use Rove Miles

3.1 Redeem hotels / flights directly

From the screenshots above, when you search hotels or flights the page offers a pay-with-miles option. Each Rove mile is worth roughly 2 to 4 US cents.

3.2 Transfer to loyalty programmes

Rove Miles is a young company still expanding its partner network: Miles & More in November 2025, Japan Airlines and SAS in March 2026, Virgin in April 2026, and Air Canada in May 2026.

The airlines below currently transfer at 1:1; Accor is 1.5:1. There are also occasional bonuses, such as the current 20% extra when transferring to Finnair.

Bottom line

Rove Miles is a new points platform worth watching. You pile up transferable “universal miles” from hotel, flight and shopping rebates. The upside is mainly high hotel earning plus a transferable partner list. As a new programme, though, policy and tracking can still be uneven.

Hotel search has a few distinctive options, and I will glance at Rove Miles before my next hotel booking. We suggest readers start with a small order to test whether miles post correctly, whether the price is higher than the hotel’s own site, and whether the cancellation policy works for you, before relying on it long term.
