JetBlue and its mileage program have shown up on this blog more than once. This post is a full record of a low-cost carrier that still has a distinctive product and program.
The airline
JetBlue Airways is a U.S. low-cost carrier. Its headquarters are on Long Island in New York, and its hub is New York JFK. The IATA code is B6. It is not in any of the three global alliances, but it partners with several airlines across all three. Which partners you can earn or redeem with is listed in the earning and award-partner sections below.
JetBlue mainly flies inside the United States and on international routes to the Caribbean, Central and South America, and Europe. In Canada it also has a nonstop from Vancouver to New York JFK.
1.1 Fleet
Apart from Embraer E190s, the fleet is all Airbus narrowbodies. JetBlue’s own transoceanic routes (United States–London, Amsterdam) are flown with long-range A321s.
Wi-Fi is free on every flight.
1.2 Mint business class
JetBlue’s newer Mint cabin is at the top of narrowbody business class. The layout is a forward herringbone, not the recliner product common on narrowbodies. Even as a herringbone, Mint is very private — a sharp contrast with Air New Zealand’s foot-in-your-face herringbone. The extra space also lifts the experience by more than one notch. Mint has a 17-inch TV, wireless charging, and storage.
The first row is JetBlue Mint Studio, which can feel more spacious than widebody business. You can invite a guest to sit, talk, and eat together.
Besides the fully redesigned Mint cabin, JetBlue still has a conventional 1-2 business cabin.

Elite status
JetBlue’s elite program is TrueBlue Mosaic, with four levels named simply 1 through 4. Details are on the official page 🔗.
2.1 How you earn status
Tiles decide which Mosaic level you reach:

The loyalty program
JetBlue’s frequent-flyer program is TrueBlue. Account points do not expire, and you can use a household account (up to seven family members).
3.1 Earning points

Partners that earn JetBlue points include:
- Earn and redeem: Cape Air, Etihad Airways, Hawaiian Airlines, Icelandair, Qatar Airways, TAP Air Portugal.
- Earn only: JSX, Silver Airways, Singapore Airlines, South African Airways
3.1.3 Co-branded cards: welcome offers and spend
🇨🇦 Canada has no co-branded card. 🇺🇸 The United States has several Barclays co-branded cards.

3.1.4 Credit-card point transfers

3.1.5 Buying points from JetBlue
JetBlue runs buy-points bonuses from time to time. There has been a 125% bonus, which worked out to 1.43 cpp USD.

3.2 Using points
More airline partners now take JetBlue points. A connecting itinerary is simply the sum of each segment’s award cost.
Searching awards is easy: open the date box and the calendar drop-down shows the days with availability.
3.2.1 JetBlue’s own flights
JetBlue awards on its own metal are dynamically priced. The points move with the cash fare, and any date or cabin can be booked with points. Economy usually comes out around 1.5 cpp USD. Mint business is usually around 1.1 cpp USD.

3.2.2 Japan Airlines (ends March 31, 2026)
The blog post Japan Airlines business class to China: large award release has examples of using TrueBlue points on JAL. It was a solid use case.

That sweet spot was soon corrected. On the JAL Vancouver–Tokyo flights you can still search, economy now needs 34.9k points and business needs 89k.
3.2.3 Qatar Airways
Qatar Airways has two Canadian gateways: Toronto and Montreal. Qatar’s flights from those cities to Doha need 44.9k points in economy and 90k in business.
