Everyday spending

4%: groceries, on the first $10,000 of eligible spend each year. After that, grocery spend earns the 1% rate used for other purchases.

3%: restaurants on the first $6,000 of eligible spend each year. Entertainment and alternative transportation have no annual cap listed on the page. Restaurant spend above the first $6,000 earns 1%.

1%: other eligible purchases. When cash back reaches $100, the bank automatically credits the account. Categories are assigned by the merchant’s transaction code.

Mastercard Travel Pass by DragonPass can get you into more than 1,300 airport lounges in more than 140 countries; actual usage fees follow that program. You also get three 1GB Flexiroam global eSIM plans and 15% off later plans. Hertz, Thrifty, and Dollar rentals can take up to 25% off the base rate. The purchase rate is 20.9%, the cash-advance rate is 21.9%, and cash advances are limited to $5,000 a day.

  • 3-day travel and rental coverage

Eligible trips for the cardholder, spouse, and dependent children last a maximum of 3 days. Emergency health care is up to $5,000,000 per person per trip. When eligible costs such as airfare are charged to this card, cancellation before departure is up to $500 and trip modification after departure is up to $1,000. Baggage lost, damaged, delayed more than 6 hours, or stolen by a common carrier is up to $500. A trip longer than 3 days needs separate extended coverage. Unstable pre-existing conditions, eligibility, and exclusions follow the certificate. When the rental is charged in full to this card, rental collision/loss coverage lasts up to 48 consecutive days.

  • Mobile device, purchase protection, and extended warranty

An eligible new or refurbished phone paid in full with this card, or whose down payment and all monthly contract payments are charged to this card, can be covered up to $1,500 for loss, theft, accidental damage, or mechanical breakdown after depreciation and the deductible. Purchase protection covers eligible items lost or damaged within 120 days of purchase. The original warranty is automatically doubled, for up to two extra years. Eligibility, payout limits, and exclusions follow the insurance certificate.
