Benefits & insurance
- $100 Annual Chase Travel Hotel Credit
Each account anniversary year, the first USD 100 you spend on hotel accommodation through Chase Travel on this card is automatically credited to your statement. The year runs from the account-open date through the first statement date after the anniversary, then in 12-billing-cycle periods after that. If the purchase is returned, cancelled, or modified, or you close the account within 90 days of receiving the credit, Chase may claw it back.
- Global Entry or TSA PreCheck® or NEXUS Application Fee credit
After the first eligible Global Entry, TSA PreCheck®, or NEXUS application fee for the primary or an authorized user posts to this card, you can receive up to a USD 120 statement credit every four years. Only payments made directly to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, an eligible partner, or an authorized enrollment provider listed on the TSA website qualify. Payments through a travel agency or application-assistance service do not. Credits usually take one to two billing cycles to post.
- Transfer Points
Chase currently lists Aer Lingus AerClub, Air Canada Aeroplan, British Airways Executive Club, Flying Blue, Iberia Plus, JetBlue TrueBlue, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Southwest Rapid Rewards®, United MileagePlus®, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, plus IHG® Rewards Club, Marriott Bonvoy®, World of Hyatt®, and Wyndham Rewards®. Each program’s transfer, redemption, and expiry rules apply at the time you move the points.
- Apple TV benefit / DoorDash DashPass benefits
The primary cardmember must activate Apple TV once through Chase or Chase Mobile by December 31, 2026 to receive at least 12 complimentary months. Closing the account or product-changing to an ineligible card ends the benefit. DoorDash DashPass must be activated with a U.S. address by December 31, 2027 for at least 12 complimentary months; after activation, pay eligible DashPass orders with this card. Members also get a USD 10 discount on one eligible non-restaurant order each calendar month. Unused balance does not roll over, and the offer is U.S. only.
- Roadside Assistance / Travel and Emergency Assistance
If you need roadside help, you can call the provider to arrange it; the service charge posts to this card when a truck is dispatched. While travelling, you can also get legal and medical referrals, emergency translation, and help with lost luggage. You pay for any goods or services obtained. These are assistance services, not insurance payouts.
Travel insurance
- Auto Rental Coverage
If you pay the entire rental with this card or eligible rewards, and the primary renter declines the rental company’s CDW/LDW, you can get primary theft and collision coverage worldwide (where available) up to USD 60,000, for rentals of up to 31 consecutive days. Coverage can include eligible loss-of-use, administrative fees, and reasonable towing. Vehicles with an MSRP over USD 125,000, specialty vehicles, motorcycles, chauffeur-driven rentals, and bodily injury / third-party liability are excluded. Report an accident or theft as soon as possible, and no later than 100 days, to chasecardbenefits.com or the Benefit Administrator; submit required documents within 365 days.
- Baggage Delay Insurance
If you pay all or part of a common-carrier fare with this card or eligible rewards, and checked baggage is delayed or misdirected more than six hours after you arrive, you can be reimbursed for essentials (toiletries, a change of clothes, and one charger per electronic device) up to USD 100 a day for up to five days. Report the delay to the carrier first. This coverage is secondary. Jewellery, watches, cameras, and other electronics are not covered. File a claim within 20 days of the delay and submit documents within 90 days.
- Emergency Evacuation and Transportation
This is a service, not insurance. If you pay all or part of a Covered Trip with this card or eligible rewards, the trip lasts 5 to 60 days, and you are more than 100 miles from your primary residence, a seriously ill or injured covered traveller can receive pre-authorized emergency evacuation/transportation arranged by the provider, up to USD 100,000. If a covered traveller dies during the trip, repatriation of remains to the country of primary residence is covered up to USD 15,000. Costs not authorized and arranged by the provider are not reimbursed. Service may be unavailable in sanctioned areas, places under a travel warning, or locations without adequate infrastructure.
- Lost Luggage Reimbursement
If you pay all or part of a common-carrier fare with this card or rewards, and checked or carry-on baggage is lost, damaged, or stolen while in the carrier’s care, you can be topped up to actual cash value after the carrier and any other insurance pay, up to USD 3,000 per covered traveller per incident. Jewellery/watches and cameras/other electronics each have a USD 500 sublimit. Report checked-baggage issues within the carrier’s deadline; report carry-on issues as soon as possible after deplaning. File a claim within 20 days and submit documents within 90 days. Items you simply leave on the carrier are not treated as lost or stolen.
- Travel Accident Insurance
If you pay all or part of a common-carrier fare with this card or eligible rewards, an accident during travel that causes death or specified loss of limb, sight, hearing, or speech can be covered. Common-carrier travel accident coverage is up to USD 500,000 per person; 24-hour travel accident coverage is up to USD 100,000 per person. Only the higher of the two amounts is paid for the same accident. Trips are usually covered for up to 30 days, and the loss must occur within one year of the accident. Illness, pregnancy, illegal acts, racing, professional sports, and self-inflicted injury are among the exclusions. File a claim within 20 days of the accident or loss and submit documents within 90 days.
- Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance
If you pay all or part of the trip cost with this card or rewards, and a covered reason forces you to cancel or interrupt, you can be reimbursed for prepaid, non-refundable travel expenses. The payout is the lowest of the amount you actually paid/redeemed, USD 10,000 per person, USD 20,000 per trip, or USD 40,000 per account per 12 months. Planned trips may not exceed 60 days, and coverage is secondary. Changing your mind, events that already existed when you booked, and pre-existing conditions are important exclusions. Notify the travel supplier immediately, then file a claim within 20 days of the cancellation/interruption and submit documents within 90 days.
- Trip Delay Reimbursement
If you pay all or part of a common-carrier fare with this card or rewards, and a covered reason delays you more than 12 hours or overnight, you can be reimbursed for reasonable expenses not paid by another source, up to USD 500 per covered traveller per incident. Coverage runs from departure through completion and is secondary. File a claim within 60 days of the delay and submit documents within 100 days.
Purchase protections
- Extended Warranty Protection
The eligible item needs a valid manufacturer’s U.S. repair warranty, and you must pay all or part of the cost with this card or rewards. If the original warranty (plus any store warranty or purchased service contract) is no longer than three years, coverage can add one extra year after it ends, for a total of no more than four years from purchase. Limits are USD 10,000 per item and USD 50,000 per account; the payout is the lowest of repair, a like replacement, or the amount you paid. Used goods, items without a U.S. manufacturer repair warranty, and original/combined warranties longer than three years are excluded. File a claim within 90 days of the breakdown and submit documents within 120 days.
- Purchase Protection
If you pay all or part of a new item with this card or rewards, and it is stolen, damaged, or subject to Involuntary and Accidental Parting within 120 days of purchase (90 days in New York), it can be covered. Gifts may also qualify. Limits are USD 500 per item and USD 50,000 per account; the payout is the lowest of repair, a like replacement, or the amount you paid. Shipping, ordinary loss, normal wear, plants and animals, cash, and most auto-related items are among the exclusions. File a claim within 90 days of the loss and submit documents within 120 days.
Our take
This is one of the easiest Chase cards to keep long term, for the reasons listed at the top of the article:
- The card’s own earn rates are solid.
- If you do not have an Ink business card or a Chase Sapphire Reserve, this is the only personal card that lets you get full value out of Ultimate Rewards.
- Use the credits and benefits well, and the cost of holding the card can be $0.
- Pair CSP with Chase Freedom Flex and Chase Freedom Unlimited and keep earning UR.
Other updates
【June 11, 2026 update】 Chase posted a new benefit set for this card, effective June 15. The changes:
Worse:
- Hyatt transfers shrank from 1:1 to 4:3.
- The 10% Anniversary Bonus was removed.
Better:
- More 3x categories: gas, charging, and vacation homes now earn 3x.
- $100 Chase Travel Hotel Credit: it used to be $50, and is now $100. With the annual fee still $95, this is close to a negative-fee keeper card.
- A complimentary year of Apple TV.
- Global Entry, TSA PreCheck® or NEXUS application fee credit: get up to $120 back every four years when you apply for TSA PreCheck, Global Entry or NEXUS with your card.
- Emergency Evacuation and Transportation: access the most comprehensive suite of built-in travel protections in its class, with the addition of Emergency Evacuation and Transportation.
【June 23, 2025 update】 When Chase introduced Points Boost, it also gave CSP cardmembers a $50 hotel credit as a consolation. It was valid for one year and had to be used by June 23, 2026.
Unlike the $50 travel credit CSP already had at the time, this $50 hotel credit applied as a coupon at checkout on Chase Travel, not as a later statement credit.
