【October 21, 2026 update】 The 100,000-point welcome offer is back. Once you complete the spending requirement, you also receive a 25,000-point Global Companion Award. The current offer no longer includes the 50% flight discount code from the April offer, but it is still strong.

  • See the “Welcome Offer” section below for details.

Highlights

  • Easier airline-status earning through spending: reach Alaska Silver status after $20,000 and Alaska Gold after $60,000
  • Multiple airline benefits when flying Alaska Airlines or Hawaiian Airlines
  • 3x points on purchases outside the U.S.

Who it’s for: This card suits people who regularly fly Alaska Airlines or Hawaiian Airlines, can use lounge passes and Companion Awards, and are willing to concentrate spending with the airline to earn status points. The $395 annual fee is centred on airline benefits rather than everyday flexibility. If you rarely fly these airlines, cannot use the lounges, or are unlikely to reach the status thresholds, the fee will be harder to justify. It is especially attractive for people who hold U.S. cards while living abroad: 3x on purchases outside the U.S., combined with the 10% bonus from a Bank of America checking account, brings the effective rewards rate to an eye-catching 3.3x.
