【January 10, 2026 update】 To better serve the Seattle–Rome route, Alaska Airlines has added ITA as an earn partner. You must book on the Alaska website to credit AS miles.

【September 1, 2025 update】 Bad news: Alaska has dropped Singapore Airlines and LATAM as partners. From October 1, you can no longer redeem awards on those two airlines. Official link 1🔗, Official link 2🔗

Atmos Rewards

After completing its merger with Hawaiian Airlines, Alaska also changed its frequent-flyer program. The name moved from Mileage Plan to Atmos Rewards. There were enough changes that it did not make sense to keep editing the old post, so this article exists.

Earlier post: Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan overview

The new program is still rolling out details, but the reworked Alaska program remains attractive. New co-branded cards make it easier to earn points, and a large partner list still makes it relatively easy to get high value out of them.

Alaska Airlines’ airline partners include:

oneworld partner airlines

Partners you can earn and redeem with

Aer Lingus, Air Tahiti Nui, Condor, Hainan Airlines, Icelandair, Korean Air, LATAM Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Porter Airlines, Singapore Airlines, STARLUX Airlines

Earn-only partner airlines

Aleutian Airways, Bahamasair, Cape Air, Contour Airlines, Kenmore Air, Mokulele Airlines, Southern Airways Express

One thing that has not changed is that members can still share points and benefits. Summit co-brand cardholders, in particular, can transfer points to up to 10 other members.

This article will keep adding Atmos Rewards details as they are published.

1.2.1 How to earn status points

You can earn status points from flying and from everyday spending.

Flying

From 2026, members can choose how they earn miles and status points:
(For 2025 earning, see the tables in the earning-miles section below.)

1️⃣ By distance traveled

1 mile flown = 1 point earned
Earn based on how far you go — the more miles you fly, the more points you rack up. (That’s perfect for transcontinental or long-haul international flights.) You’ll earn status points for award travel based on distance, too.

2️⃣ By price paid

$1 spend = 5 points
Go ahead and treat yourself to extra legroom. Earn points based on fare paid*, including paid upgrades to First Class, Business Class and Premium Class. You’ll also earn status points on redemption, 1 point for every 20 points you redeem.

*Excluding taxes and fees.

3️⃣ By segments flown

500 points per segment
If you frequently fly short distances — like Neighbor Island travel or flights within California — you’ll earn 500 points per segment. For award travel, you’ll earn a flat 500 status points for each segment flown.

Co-brand card spending

When Alaska announced the new program name, it also launched new co-branded cards with Bank of America. Spending on those cards earns status points at a set rate.

Co-brand card Status-point earn rate Notes
BOA Atmos Rewards Ascent Visa Signature Card $3 = 1 status point 2025 cap of 30,000 status points
No cap in 2026
BOA Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite card $2 = 1 status point No cap
BOA Atmos Rewards Visa Business Card $3 = 1 status point 2025 cap of 30,000 status points
No cap in 2026
Spending with other partners

1️⃣ Hotels, cars, and cruises booked with us

Earn 1 status point per $1 spent
For eligible Alaska Hotels stays, Alaska Car Rentals, Alaska Cruises, and Alaska Vacations bookings and packages.

2️⃣ Lyft rides

Earn 1 status point per $1 spent

3️⃣ Everyday partners

Earn 1 status point per 3 base points

Award tickets also earn status points: earn 1 status point for every mile flown on award flights, including travel on our Global Partners

1.2.2 Status match

You can status-match once. Official page🔗

Airlines you can match from

How to keep status after a match

You may only status match once. To keep your new status, earn base points (excluding Saver fares) on Alaska and Hawaiian flights within 90 days of approval.

  • To keep Atmos Silver: 5,000 base points earned on Alaska and Hawaiian flights
  • To keep Atmos Gold: 10,000 base points earned on Alaska and Hawaiian flights
  • To keep Atmos Platinum: 20,000 base points earned on Alaska and Hawaiian flights

Once you have earned the base points needed to maintain your status, it will extend beyond the first 90 days like this:

If you start your status match between July and December and mee the requirements, you’ll keep your status through the end of the next calendar year.

If you start your status match challenge by June and meet the requirements, you’ll keep your status through the end of the calendar year.
