First-year annual fees on the primary card and the first supplementary card could be refunded.

Benefits & Insurance
- À la carte Rewards Plan
Points can be redeemed for merchandise and gift cards in the online store, À la carte Rewards travel options, or a statement credit. The official site also says you can combine them with points from a personal National Bank rewards card. Before you apply points to a travel credit, you must pay the trip in full with an eligible credit card. The credit usually posts about 72 hours after redemption.
- Compensation plan in the event of fraud
The official site lists fraud compensation of up to $10,000 per account every 12 months. The plan covers actual losses from fraudulent use by a cardholder who is not an authorized signatory. The business and authorized signatories must cooperate with the bank’s investigation and file a formal complaint with law enforcement. The plan does not apply if the cardholder’s negligence contributed to the fraud.
Travel Insurance

- Departing Flight Delay
The cardholder, an accompanying spouse or dependent child, and a business companion are covered if part or all of the trip is charged to this card before departure. If the departing flight is delayed more than 4 hours, or overbooking prevents boarding and no replacement flight is available within four hours, lodging, meals, essential phone calls, and transport home can be reimbursed up to $250 per day and $500 per person in total, with no deductible. You must check in with the carrier at least two hours before departure, contact CanAssistance as soon as possible, and ideally submit the form and receipts within 90 days of the incident.
- Delayed, Lost, Damaged or Stolen Baggage
If part or all of the trip is prepaid with this card, the cardholder and accompanying travel companions are covered. Delayed, lost, damaged, or stolen baggage is covered up to $1,000 per person per trip. If common-carrier checked baggage is delayed at least six hours before the scheduled return date, essential clothing and toiletries are covered up to $500. Lost, damaged, or stolen items are covered up to $250 each, and travel-document replacement totals up to $50, with no deductible. Coverage runs from departure to return. Contact CanAssistance and submit the carrier report and proof of purchase as required.
- Vehicle Rental
Coverage applies when the cardholder rents an eligible vehicle and pays part or all of the rental with this card or points earned on this card. The consecutive rental period cannot exceed 48 days. Vehicle damage from an accident, fire, theft, or vandalism, plus reasonable towing and loss-of-use fees, is covered up to the vehicle’s manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $65,000. Personal effects in the vehicle are covered up to $1,000 per incident and $2,000 per rental. Some high-value or commercial vehicles, and illegal or dangerous driving, are excluded. Report theft or vandalism to police immediately.
- Accidental Death and Dismemberment Aboard a Common Carrier
If the cardholder, an accompanying spouse or dependent child, or a business companion is a passenger on a common carrier and dies or loses a limb or the use of a limb in an accident, the maximum benefit is $250,000. Coverage follows the certificate’s definitions, limits, and exclusions. Contact CanAssistance immediately and submit the claim form and required proof within 45 days of the accident unless it is not reasonably possible.

- Purchase Protection and Extended Warranty
Eligible new movable property must be paid entirely by the cardholder with this card or points earned on this card. Theft or breakage within 180 days of purchase is covered. A manufacturer’s warranty that is valid in Canada can be tripled for a maximum of two extra years. If the original warranty is longer than five years, you must first register the purchase with the insurer. Benefits do not exceed the purchase price charged to the account. The combined maximum while the account is active is $60,000, with no deductible. Gift cards, currency, tickets, mobile devices, used items, motor vehicles, and normal wear are not covered. Report theft or vandalism to police immediately, contact CanAssistance as soon as possible, and submit proof of purchase, warranty documents, and the claim file.
