Welcome Offer
【September 4, 2026 update】 The bank’s website currently does not list a welcome offer or low-rate promotion for this card.

Balance transfers: The standard annual rate is 13.99%. Each balance transfer started through the application is charged a 1.00% fee, with a $3.50 minimum per transfer. Total transfers cannot exceed the approved credit limit and cannot be used to pay MBNA or a TD Bank Group affiliate.
Benefits & Insurance
- Trip Assistance and Legal Assistance
These can help with lost travel documents or tickets, lost baggage, pre-trip information, and legal assistance. MBNA is clear that this is not an insurance benefit. If the service administrator pays costs on your behalf, those amounts are charged to your credit-card account. Do not treat this as medical, trip-cancellation, or baggage insurance.
- Save with Avis Rent A Car and Budget Rent A Car
At participating Avis or Budget locations, charge the full rental to this card and use the stated discount code to save at least 10% on the base rate in Canada and the United States, and at least 5% at other international locations. Avis uses AWD #C078405; Budget uses BCD #A331704. The discount applies only to the base rate. Availability, taxes, and rental terms are set by the rental company.
- Mastercard Zero Liability
When the conditions apply, you are not responsible for unauthorized in-store, phone, online, mobile, or ATM transactions on a Canadian-issued Mastercard. Scope and conditions follow Mastercard’s rules.
Purchase-related insurance
Official certificate of insurance 🔗
- Purchase Assurance
After you charge an eligible personal item in full to the account (an access cheque also qualifies), it is covered worldwide for up to 90 days against theft or accidental damage. The insurer may repair, replace, or pay the pre-tax purchase price. The lifetime aggregate per account is $60,000. Computers, software, and their parts/accessories are limited to $1,000 per loss in total. Jewellery and artwork are limited to $500 per item per loss. This is excess coverage and does not cover cash, tickets, documents, living things, vehicles, normal wear, mysterious disappearance, inherent defects, and similar items or situations.
- Extended Warranty
Eligible new items charged in full to the account, with a manufacturer warranty valid in Canada, can have that warranty doubled, up to one extra year. Coverage is automatic when the original warranty is five years or less. Longer warranties must be registered with the Operations Centre within one year of purchase. It covers only parts and labour for mechanical breakdown or failure already in the original warranty. Used goods and vehicles are excluded.
After a loss that may lead to a claim, contact the Operations Centre as soon as possible. The certificate requires notice within 30 days of the incident and proof of loss within 90 days (or as soon as reasonably possible, and no later than one year). Full eligibility, exclusions, and claim documents are in the official certificate.
