  • Mobile Device Insurance

A qualifying new phone, smartphone, or tablet must have at least 75% of its total cost charged to this card. If you buy it on an eligible wireless plan, charge the required down payment and every monthly wireless bill during the plan to this card. Coverage starts on the later of 30 days after purchase or the first monthly wireless bill posting to the card, and ends no later than two years after purchase. It also ends if a required monthly bill is missed or the account is no longer in Good Standing. Loss, theft, accidental damage, or mechanical breakdown is covered up to $1,000 after 2% depreciation per completed month from the purchase price and a $25 to $100 deductible based on the pre-tax total. Across all accounts, the limit is one claim per consecutive 12 months and two claims per consecutive 48 months. Coverage is excess after other insurance. Accessories, batteries, business or used devices, most refurbished devices, unexplained loss, cosmetic-only damage, software/network issues, and device theft from baggage that was not carried with you are excluded. Get insurer approval before repair or replacement. Start a claim within 30 days. For loss or theft, suspend wireless service within 48 hours; for theft, also report it to police within 7 days. Submit written notice and proof within 90 days, or as soon as reasonably possible and no later than one year.

  • Purchase Assurance

Eligible personal items must be charged in full to this card or bought with an access cheque on this account. Worldwide theft or damage for 90 days from the purchase date can be repaired, replaced, or refunded at the pre-tax purchase price, at the insurer’s choice. The lifetime aggregate per account is $60,000. Computers, software, and their parts/accessories are limited to $1,000 per loss in total. Jewellery and artwork are limited to $500 per item per loss. Coverage only pays the difference after other valid insurance, reimbursement, or protection. Cash, tickets, documents, plants and animals, mail-order items not yet delivered and accepted, motor vehicles and their accessories, normal wear, fraud, inherent defects, modifications, and unexplained loss are excluded. Notify the operations centre within 30 days of the event and submit proof within 90 days, or as soon as reasonably possible and no later than one year.

Used items and motor vehicles and their accessories are excluded. Notify within 30 days of the event and submit proof within 90 days, or as soon as reasonably possible and no later than one year.
