Everyday spending

2%: restaurants, entertainment, and alternative transportation earn BONUSDOLLARS. Restaurant and pre-authorized-payment categories earn 2% on the first $3,600 of eligible spend each year, then 0.5% for the rest of that year.

0.5%: pre-authorized payments after that annual $3,600 cap, plus other eligible purchases. Returns, cash advances, cheques, Accord D financing, interest, foreign-currency purchases, electronic transfers, money orders, and casino transactions do not earn BONUSDOLLARS. The merchant MCC determines the category.
