In short

Air Canada’s travel program for small and mid-size businesses and non-profits is Embarq. Joining is free, and there is no minimum spend. Book through it and North American base fares are up to 5% off, while long-haul routes get a fixed discount in Canadian dollars. Employees also earn 1.5x Aeroplan points, and the discount and the points stack. The limited-time offer runs until December 10, 2026, and only companies or non-profits registered for tax in Canada can join. If you have a company, it is worth signing up.

What is Embarq?

Air Canada Embarq™ is the airline’s new self-serve travel platform for small and mid-size businesses. Booking, travel management, expense tracking, and rewards sit in one portal. It is the small-company version of a corporate travel deal: more of a discount and more points than a personal booking, without the negotiation and high-spend bar of a traditional corporate agreement (Access).

  • Cost: free to join, with no minimum spend. The site’s own words are “no minimum spend requirement and no cost to join.”
  • Registration: an authorized company representative (the Primary Corporate Travel Manager) registers at embarq.aircanada.com with their own Aeroplan account.
  • Booking: employees sign in at aircanada.com with their own Aeroplan accounts and choose Business Travel.

Benefit 1: fare discounts

The offer runs from September 10 to December 10, 2026 (11:59 p.m. ET) and applies only to newly booked Eligible Fares:

Route Discount
North America (to/from North America) Up to 5% off the base fare
Canada to Europe, the Middle East, Africa, or India, and Canada–Caribbean / international routes A fixed discount in Canadian dollars

The fixed amounts (round trip / one way):

Cabin Round trip One way
Business (Latitude / Standard / Basic) $120 $60
Premium economy (Latitude / Standard / Basic) $80 $40
Economy Latitude / Comfort / Flex $50 $25
Economy Standard $16 (about 2%) $8

A few limits:

  • Economy Basic is excluded from every discount.
  • The discount applies only to the base fare. Taxes and surcharges are still paid in full.
  • These routes do not qualify: trips starting in the United States and going to Europe, the Middle East, India, or Africa; and trips starting in Europe, the Middle East, India, or Africa and going to Canada, the United States, Mexico, or Central America.
  • Group tickets and Flight Passes do not qualify. The discount cannot be combined with other offers, but it can be combined with the 1.5x points.

Benefit 2: 1.5x Aeroplan points

During the same offer window, an employee who books an eligible ticket through Embarq earns 1.5x Aeroplan points:

  • That is 1x base points plus a 0.5x bonus, earned on the base fare plus the carrier surcharge, in Canadian dollars.
  • Economy Basic is excluded.
  • The bonus does not count as SQC, LQM, or EDQ (everyday elite-qualifying activity). Only the base 1x counts in the normal way.
  • Points post within 4 weeks after you complete the trip. The Aeroplan number has to be on the booking.
  • This stacks with the fare discount above.

Example: on an eligible ticket with a $600 base fare plus the fuel surcharge, the base earn is 600 points and the bonus is another 300, for 900 points in total. Those 300 bonus points do not count toward SQC or EDQ.

Who can join?

  • A business or non-profit that operates in Canada and has an office in Canada.
  • Registered in Canada for tax purposes (“registered in Canada for applicable tax purposes”).
  • No existing Air Canada Access corporate agreement.
  • Travel agencies, wholesalers, and tour operators cannot join.
  • Bookings have to be made directly through Embarq. A booking made by a travel agency does not count.
