Everyday Spending

6x: WestJet flights. This is the 3x base earn rate plus an extra 3x for Silver members on eligible WestJet flights. The extra points apply only when the statement merchant is WestJet and the primary cardholder retains Silver status; they are issued within 30 days after travel. Taxes do not earn the extra points.

3x: WestJet flights, WestJet Vacations, and Sunwing Vacations. The merchant on the statement must appear as WestJet, WestJet Vacations, or Sunwing Vacations. Travel bought through a travel agent or third-party website may not qualify for the additional 1.5x.

3x: Telecommunications, electronics, and shipping. Purchases must be classified under eligible Mastercard MCCs: telecommunications 4812 or 4814; electronics 5045, 5732, or 5734; shipping 4215. The payment network determines the merchant’s MCC.

1.5x: Everything else. WestJet points are earned on net purchases. Cash advances, balance transfers, cash-like transactions, non-pre-authorized bill payments, interest, and fees do not earn points; returns and adjustments reduce or reverse the original points.
