【July 7, 2026 update】 Wealthsimple has started inviting some clients to apply for a starter version of its credit card, aiming at the entry-level market. After the card book grew quickly, it looks as if Wealthsimple decided the credit-card business is worth chasing.

A few details have leaked out:

  • Invite-only, rolling out slowly
  • Soft credit pull, so it should not ding your score
  • It sounds as if you can pick from several card colours; the website says you cannot change the colour after you choose it
  • You currently cannot upgrade this card to Visa Infinite+ or Visa Infinite Privilege. That option may open later

Highlights

  • Starter product with a lower application bar
  • No annual fee, with 1% cash back on spending
  • Optional perks include no foreign-transaction or currency-conversion fees
