Hilton Singapore Orchard: A Stay on Orchard Road

I was in Singapore and used the trip to try Hilton’s Asia flagship, Hilton Singapore Orchard. It sits on busy Orchard Road, with malls, restaurants, and easy transport all around. The MRT is a short walk. The hotel sits above a mall: you can enter through the shopping centre, or use the hotel’s own street-level lobby entrance.

Before arrival I got a text from the hotel walking through Diamond benefits. It was the first pre-arrival message I had received from Hilton.

The message covered breakfast hours, lounge hours, and lounge check-in.

Check-in landed in the afternoon rush, so I went straight to the lounge. I had already arranged a room through the app and got a junior suite. Open the listing and it is still only 49 square metres. In a tight city like Singapore, that apparently counts as a “suite.”

Inside the room

Walking in, it still felt like a standard room.

The room is fairly modern. The hair dryer is a Dyson, and the amenities are Hilton’s usual Crabtree & Evelyn.

Executive lounge

Check-in landed during happy hour, so I had a look at the executive lounge while I was there. The food was not especially generous. It felt more like snacks than a proper spread.

I booked Hilton Singapore Orchard for my parents this time and did not try breakfast myself. They liked it, and the hotel’s seafood dinner buffet is fairly well known. I stayed at the Conrad that used to be the Regent. On location, rooms, lounge, and service, it did not match this Hilton. For me, Hilton beats Conrad here.
