Benefits & Insurance

  • US$200 Delta Flight Credit (Delta Flight Credit)

Spend US$10,000 in eligible purchases on the account during each calendar year to receive one US$200 Delta eCredit. Each account is limited to one credit per calendar year. The credit is usually issued 6–8 weeks after reaching the threshold and expires one year after issuance. It can be used toward Delta-marketed tickets booked through Delta or the airfare portion of a Delta Vacations package, but not ancillary charges. A refund, cancellation, or loss of account eligibility can affect the credit.

  • US$100 Delta Stays Credit (Delta Stays Credit)

Each calendar year, use the card through delta.com/stays to book a new prepaid hotel or vacation rental and receive up to US$100 in statement credits. Basic and Additional Cards share the account limit. Room charges, resort fees, cancellation fees, and Delta Vacations do not qualify. Credits usually post 6–8 weeks after the transaction; a refund, cancellation, or booking modification can reverse the credit.

  • US$120 Rideshare Credit (Rideshare Credit)

Enrollment becomes available only after the first card renewal; after enrolling, eligible rides with Uber, Lyft, Curb, and Alto in the United States receive up to US$10 per month, up to US$120 per account per calendar year, shared by the Basic and Additional Cards. Delivery, memberships, subscriptions, bicycles and scooters, public transit, and rental cars do not qualify. Enrollment may take 24 hours, and the credit can take up to eight weeks to post.

  • First Checked Bag Free (First Checked Bag Free)

The Basic Card Member’s SkyMiles number must be on the reservation. On qualifying Delta or Delta Connection-operated segments, the Basic Card Member and companions on the same reservation can avoid the standard fee for the first checked bag, covering up to nine people. Overweight or oversized baggage, codeshare flights, and situations where the itinerary already includes a free baggage allowance are excluded.

  • Second Checked Bag Free (Second Checked Bag Free)

The product page advertises a free second checked bag on domestic Delta flights. The eligible flights, passenger coverage, baggage size and weight limits, and other conditions should be checked against Delta’s current cardmember terms. The current application terms repeat other text under this benefit, so the full conditions for the second bag cannot be inferred from the first-bag rules alone.

  • TakeOff 15 (15% award-ticket mileage discount)

Book an award ticket through delta.com or the Fly Delta App that is operated and ticketed entirely by Delta or Delta Connection, and the mileage portion is reduced by 15%. Taxes and fees still apply, and the eligible card must be used for payment. Partner flights, Pay with Miles, Miles + Cash, post-booking upgrades, and combinations with eCredits, gift cards, certificates, or other discounts do not qualify.

  • Zone 5 Priority Boarding (Zone 5 Priority Boarding)

The Basic Card Member and companions on the same reservation can receive Zone 5 boarding, covering up to nine people. A SkyMiles number must be included in the reservation. The benefit applies to Delta or Delta Connection-operated flights, but not Delta Shuttle flights.

  • Pay with Miles (Pay with Miles)

When booking an eligible Delta or Delta Connection ticket on the Delta website, you can generally redeem 5,000 miles for about US$50. The minimum and redemption increments are 5,000 miles, and the balance is paid with the card. Using miles for the entire ticket can affect the actual value because of rounding. Except for Risk-Free Cancellation, miles generally are not redeposited after cancellation; any remaining value is handled as an eCertificate.

  • 20% Back on In-Flight Purchases (20% Back on In-Flight Purchases)

Use the card on Delta-operated flights for eligible pre-purchased meals and onboard food and beverages to receive a statement credit equal to 20% of the purchase. Credits usually post within 6–8 weeks. Wi-Fi, Delta Sync services, and charitable donations do not qualify.

  • Baggage Insurance Plan (Baggage Insurance Plan)

You must pay the entire Common Carrier fare with the card before departure to activate coverage. Combining Amex Loyalty Programs or Pay with Points with card payment can qualify; redemptions from other airlines’ loyalty programs do not. Covered baggage losses, damage, or theft are eligible on trips lasting up to 365 consecutive days. The maximum is US$1,250 per covered person for carry-on baggage and US$500 per person for checked baggage. High-risk items are capped at US$250 per person per trip. Cash, identification, tickets, consumables, contact lenses, hearing aids, and items shipped as freight before departure are among the exclusions. You should usually notify Amex within 30 days and submit proof of loss within 60 days after receiving instructions.

  • Car Rental Loss and Damage Insurance (Car Rental Loss and Damage Insurance)

You must reserve and pay for the entire rental with the card, decline the CDW or similar collision-damage waiver at the rental counter, and have an eligible renter sign the agreement. Each rental agreement covers up to 30 consecutive days, with up to US$50,000 for damage to or theft of the vehicle. This is secondary coverage and does not include liability, personal-injury, or uninsured-motorist coverage. Rentals in Australia, Italy, New Zealand, and OFAC-sanctioned countries are excluded. Important exclusions also include commercial use, peer-to-peer rentals, motorcycles, limousines, most vans, off-road driving, driving while intoxicated, theft from an unlocked vehicle, mechanical failure, and normal wear. You should usually notify Amex within 30 days and submit proof of loss within 60 days after receiving instructions.

  • Purchase Protection (Purchase Protection)

After you use the card to buy a tangible item for personal, business, or gift use, accidental damage or theft within 90 days of purchase can qualify for a claim. The maximum is US$1,000 per eligible item, US$50,000 per eligible card per calendar year, and US$500 per natural-disaster event. Coverage is limited to the amount paid with the card and is secondary coverage. Mysterious disappearance, normal wear, product defects, inadequate safeguarding, consumables, cash or gift cards, rented or borrowed items, motor vehicles and machinery, and resale inventory are excluded. You should usually notify Amex within 30 days and submit proof within 60 days after receiving instructions; theft or intentional damage must first be reported to the authorities.

  • Extended Warranty (Extended Warranty)

Use the card to buy an eligible tangible item and an original manufacturer warranty valid in the United States, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory can be extended by up to one year. The original warranty and purchased service contract together cannot exceed five years. Each eligible purchase is capped at US$10,000 and each eligible card at US$50,000 per calendar year; only the amount charged to the card counts. This coverage extends the original warranty and is not accidental-damage insurance. Consumables, used goods, rentals, motor vehicles and machinery, software, resale inventory, professional-use items, unauthorised repairs, and parts not approved by the manufacturer are excluded. You should usually notify Amex within 30 days of the failure and submit proof within 60 days after receiving instructions.
