【October 2, 2026 update】 A careful read of Chase’s official wording for this card and the mid-tier Premier card shows that the $300 benefit is not especially easy to use:
- Each calendar quarter provides one $75 voucher. It can only offset food and beverage charged to a room bill. Without a hotel stay, there is no room bill to charge.
- Charges on the room bill must be in the primary cardmember’s name. The reservation must also be in the primary cardmember’s name and linked to that cardmember’s IHG account.
- The voucher expires at the end of its issuing quarter, can be used only once, and forfeits any unused balance.
- Dining, drinks, and gratuities count, but vending machines, third-party delivery, restaurants that cannot charge to a room, gift shops, minibar charges, taxes, and fees do not.
- It cannot be used for group, tour, or conference-package stays. Amounts paid with a voucher do not earn IHG points.
- Participating hotels include all IHG brands, but IHG Army Hotels, some Six Senses properties, Iberostar Beachfront Resorts, Royal Resorts by Holiday Inn Club Vacations, and InterContinental Alliance Resorts in Macau are excluded.
🤔 In practice, the $300 benefit ($100 on the Premier card) is a set of “hotel-stay dining vouchers,” not a general dining credit. If you do not stay at IHG hotels, the four $75 quarterly vouchers will largely go unused. This is one of the easiest benefits to overvalue when deciding whether the annual fee is worthwhile.

Everyday spending
12x: qualifying purchases at hotels participating in IHG One Rewards. That 12x is what this card earns. IHG One Rewards member stay points and the extra points from Platinum Elite Status are calculated separately under the IHG program rules. The issuer’s advertising says the three together can reach 28x.
6x: travel (excluding the participating IHG hotel purchases that already earn 12x) and dining, including takeout and eligible delivery. Chase does not publish a cap on these two categories.
3x: all other eligible purchases. Balance transfers, cash advances and other cash-like transactions, betting, person-to-person transfers, account funding, checks, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees do not earn points.
Benefits and protections
- Anniversary Free Night
Each account anniversary you receive one Anniversary Free Night for a standard IHG room night, including taxes, at a redemption level of up to 60,000 points. You can add points from your own account to book a higher redemption level. The stay must be completed within 12 months of issue. The award cannot be transferred, extended, cashed out, or turned back into points. Parking, mandatory resort fees, and other incidentals stay with you, and the night is subject to availability and the hotel’s cancellation policy.
- Up to $300 in Annual IHG Food & Beverage Rewards
Each calendar quarter the primary cardmember receives one Food & Beverage Reward voucher of up to $75, for a maximum of $300 a year. The voucher applies only to eligible food and beverage charged to a room bill in the primary cardmember’s name at a participating IHG hotel. It expires at the end of the quarter it was issued, it is single-use, and unused value does not carry over. Some hotels and purchase types are excluded. The hotel makes the final call.
- $200 Annual Statement Credit on Flights Booked with the Airline
Through December 31, 2027, buy a flight directly from an airline for at least $250 in a single purchase and you automatically receive one $200 statement credit per calendar year. The credit usually shows within 3 business days and can take up to 4 weeks. If the eligible purchase is returned, cancelled, or changed, or if you close the account within 90 days of receiving the credit, Chase can take the credit back.
- Redeem Three Nights, Get Fourth Reward Night Free
When you redeem points for at least four consecutive standard-room nights at the same hotel, the first 3 nights are charged at the award rate and the 4th night is 0 points. You can use this as often as you like each year. Paid stays and Points & Cash bookings do not qualify. If you cancel the reservation or check out before the 4th night, the free night is forfeited. Parking, resort fees, and other incidentals remain yours to pay.
- Enjoy 20 Elite Night Credits
Usually 6–8 weeks after you open the account, the primary cardmember receives 20 Elite Night Credits. In later calendar years they are deposited by February 1. If several IHG cards are linked to the same IHG One Rewards account, you still receive this 20-night grant only once. Both the card account and the IHG membership must be in good standing when the nights post.
- Earn 2 Elite Night Credits for Every $5,000 Spent
The primary cardmember earns 2 Elite Night Credits for every $5,000 in eligible purchases. The official page does not set a cap on how many times this can post, and the nights usually take 6–8 weeks. They count toward elite status and Milestone Rewards, and they count only for the year they are earned.
- $15,000 Annual Spend Benefits
Spend $15,000 in eligible purchases in a calendar year and you receive 5 extra Elite Night Credits. These 5 nights are on top of the 2 nights per $5,000, and they usually post in 6–8 weeks.
- 20,000 Bonus Points
The same $15,000 eligible-spend threshold in a calendar year also earns 20,000 IHG One Rewards points. The posting time, eligible-purchase rules, and account-standing rules match the annual elite-night bonus above.
- Automatic Platinum Elite Status
While you are the primary cardmember on Premier Select and the linked IHG One Rewards account is in good standing, you automatically have Platinum Elite Status. It usually shows on the account 6–8 weeks after you open the card.
- Diamond Elite Status After Annual Spend
Spend at least $25,000 in eligible purchases in a calendar year and you receive Diamond Elite Status for the rest of that year and through the end of the next calendar year. It can take up to about 8 weeks to take effect. The card and the IHG One Rewards account must both stay in good standing while the status is granted and held.
- Save 30% on Points Purchases
Buying IHG One Rewards points with this card gets you at least 30% off. The discount cannot be combined with another points-purchase offer. Purchased points are not elite-qualifying points. Points.com processes the transaction, and purchased points are non-refundable.
- Free Night After Annual Spend
Spend $40,000 in eligible purchases in a calendar year and you receive an extra Free Night for a standard IHG room night, including taxes, at a redemption level of up to 60,000 points. You can add your own points to cover a higher redemption. It posts within 8 weeks of qualifying, and the stay must be completed within 12 months of issue. The award cannot be transferred, extended, cashed out, or turned back into points.
- Global Entry or TSA PreCheck or NEXUS Application Fee Statement Credit
When the primary cardmember or an authorized user pays the application fee for a first-time Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS application with this card, you receive one statement credit of up to $120 every four years. Payment must go directly to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, an eligible partner, or a TSA-designated enrolment provider. Travel agents, application-assistance services, and other third-party payments do not qualify. The credit usually appears within 1–2 billing cycles.
- Up to $50 United Airlines TravelBank Cash Each Year
After the primary cardmember registers once through the IHG One Rewards account and links a United MileagePlus account, each calendar year brings two deposits of $25 TravelBank Cash: one for January–June and one for July–December, up to $50 total. Whenever the first deposit posts, it expires on July 15 of that same year. The second expires on January 15 of the following year.
- Complimentary DashPass
Activate DashPass for the first time with this card between February 1, 2025 and December 31, 2027, and you get one year of complimentary membership shared by DoorDash and Caviar. You need a U.S. address, this card set as the default payment method, and you must pay eligible orders with this card. After the free year, membership renews automatically at the then-current monthly fee unless you cancel.
- Earn Up to $10 Off Monthly on DoorDash Non-Restaurant Orders
If you first activate DashPass with this card between September 1, 2026 and December 31, 2027, then while you keep DashPass you get $10 off one eligible non-restaurant DoorDash order each calendar month. Pay with the enrolled card. The discount applies only to the order subtotal, and unused value does not carry over. If you activated before September 1, 2026, the published rule is one $10 discount per quarter.
- Three Months of Complimentary Instacart+ Membership
Activate for the first time with this card on the designated page between May 1, 2025 and December 31, 2027, and each eligible account gets one three-month Instacart+ membership. You need a U.S. address. After the free period it renews automatically at the $99 annual fee, or the then-current annual fee, unless you cancel during the free period.
- Receive One $10 Credit Per Month in the Instacart App
After the primary cardmember activates the complimentary Instacart+ with this card within the required window and keeps an active Instacart+ membership, you receive one $10 Instacart credit each month. Each credit applies to a single order of at least $10 from one retailer, paid with this card. Unused value does not carry over. Taxes, service fees, delivery fees, tips, and restaurant orders are excluded. This benefit ends on December 31, 2027.
- Chase Pay Over Time
Eligible purchases of at least $100 may be offered a payment plan. Chase decides eligibility, the monthly fee, and the number of payments. Cash-like transactions, the annual fee, and some other charges do not qualify.
Travel protections
- Trip Cancellation / Interruption Insurance
The official page says that if sickness, severe weather, or another covered situation forces you to cancel or cut a trip short, you can be reimbursed for prepaid, non-refundable airfare, tours, and hotels, up to $5,000 per covered traveller and $10,000 per trip. The page also says restrictions, exclusions, deadlines, and documentation requirements apply. - Purchase Protection
Eligible new purchases are covered against theft or damage for 120 days from the purchase date, up to $500 per item. For New York residents the coverage period is 90 days.
